I’ve been getting pretty serious about monetizing my blog and making it a business along with it becoming a ministry to whoever graces my website. And as I have bene researching all the things that require for an efficient and upstanding website, I’ve seen more and more disclosure policies and how to make my website “legal”.

All of that sounds fancy and cold… and the last thing I want to be is cold.

SO! Here is why I have a policy page and what it really means.

Grace Empowered is my “job” and I put a lot of effort, time, and money into it. It is a fairly inexpensive hobby, one I don’t mind paying for but a dream of mine is to be a stay at home wife/mother who can also contribute to the family income from at home. But the truth is, I don’t want to miss any moment with my family by having to leave to make money. I have lived 24/7 at a waitressing job before and it seriously took so much time and energy away from my new marriage that I began dealing with depression and exhaustion and I knew I needed a change. My husband can fully support our family on his income and does so joyfully, but our desire is to one day live off one of our incomes, and give the other away for ministry, missions, and others in love gifts.

In my research on blogging, some bloggers out there sell products for companies to make an income while others make their own products, like writing books or e-courses to earn an income.

For Grace Empowered, I hope to one day offer you my talents and gifts that you can utilize for your everyday life. I would love to be able to write books and edit as a business, I would love to create art and sell them, I would love to create things you ask for that would bring Glory to God in all things. So in an effort of vulnerability and transparency, my blog will contain affiliate links* but I choose to recommend products that I believe in wholeheartedly, have purchased or intend to purchase myself, and that bring wholeness and health to my life and my family’s life. My standard, regardless how I monetize this blog in the near future, is that whatever I earn is done by glorifying God through my talents.

And ultimately, any product I promote will all align with the beliefs of my business and the life I live for God’s glory. 🙂

Xoxo,

Mal

P.S. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me personally and I would love to discuss with you any thoughts you may have! Below are also links I refer to, the FTC guidelines, and much more.

FTC Guidelines

Why I wrote a disclosure page.

*Affiliate links are specialized links through Amazon, that if you choose to purchase a product through my link, I will earn a commission income from the purchase! The best part is that you won’t be charged any extra for me to get paid; Amazon itself pays me for recommending their website and products. How cool is that!? So thank you in advance for trusting my recommendations and helping support me and this website!
